Steve, Tom and I visited Northern Baja California during early September of 2000. We stayed at Rancho Santa Veronica. Tom, was again, had by a water hazard (it happens every ride). Steve made the mistake of asking me if he could ride my YZ426F. This meant that I would ride his new DR400Z. unfortunately, I had a little spill. This was caused, of course, by the differences in the handling between the YZ426F and the DR400Z. His Suzuki now looks like a true dirt bike (this time Amourall will not renew it to show room condition). Sorry, Steve. After the drive down, it all starts with the morning cup of coffee............
At a True 1/2 Star resort
As we warmed up, Tom upped the anti, by inducing a little more speed! Tom then attempts to take the old guy riding the YZ426F....... Sorry Tom.......
Remember the part about Steve wanting to ride the YZ426. As it turned out the joke was on me.
After Steve was demoralized by being beaten on the flat track by a old technology air cooled Honda 400..................................
He resorted to walking his DR400Z for the balance of the ride..........
In closing, we had a great time. We enjoyed riding more than 300 miles of Baja's trails and dirt roads. It is time to start planning the next ride. Got to go now. Heading to the optometrist to have my eye glass frames straightened............
